2011 Canberra International Electric Vehicle Festival
The 2011 Canberra International Electric Vehicle Festival was the third annual EV festival held in Canberra. It was be bigger and better than before, featuring the latest production electric cars now available in Australia, including the Tesla Roadster, Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Blade Electron. There were also exhibits from EV infrastructure and service providers as well as exhibits showing electric boats, motor bikes, bicycles, converted electric vehicles, electric motor sport, historical electric vehicles, electric vehicle-related sustainable development, and electric vehicle technology research and development.
For the first time, there was an all-electric link to and from Floriade, Canberra's spring flower festival, where an electric boat and car shuttle service took people across Lake Burley Griffin and to the festival.
The festival was held on Sunday 25 September, on the West Lawns of Old Parliament House.
The festival was open to the public from 10am to 4pm, and entry was free.
